People  at this point in their journey to changing a behavior don’t feel they need to  make a change.  They don’t feel that  their unhealthy behavior will cause them any harm so they don’t see the need to  change, even when scientific data shows otherwise.  They often see themselves as being safe from  the dangers that those behaviors usually cause.   For example, a smoker may use the fact that their grandfather who smoked  “all his life” lived until the age of 92.
